Zedott 10 Dt Tablet 10

Zedott 10 DT Tablet is used for:

• Managing acute diarrhoea in infants and children

• Assisting oral rehydration solution therapy in controlling severe diarrhoea symptoms

• Preventing dehydration and electrolyte imbalances due to diarrhoeal episodes

To administer Zedott 10 DT Tablet:

• Thoroughly follow the dosage and timing guidelines provided by your doctor when taking this medicine.

• Do not change or exceed the prescribed dose without consulting your doctor.

• Avoid discontinuing this medication without your doctor's advice. Always consult your doctor before stopping.

• Adhere to the diet plan recommended by your doctor.

Zedott 10 DT Tablet is given orally.

Zedott 10 DT Tablet contains Racecadotril (10 mg) which works in the body as follows:

• Enkephalinase Inhibition: Racecadotril inhibits an enzyme called enkephalinase present in the gut. This enzyme breaks down endogenous enkephalins, which are compounds that reduce water and electrolyte secretion in the intestines.

• Reduction of Intestinal Hypersecretion: Racecadotril reduces intestinal hypersecretion by blocking enkephalinase activity. This process helps decrease fluid and electrolyte loss through diarrhoeal stools without affecting intestinal motility or transit time.

Thus, by normalising fluid balance in the gut and reducing fluid loss, Racecadotril effectively manages acute diarrhoea symptoms.

• Store Zedott 10 DT Tablet in a cool, dry place, ideally at room temperature, which is between 15 to 25 degrees Celsius.

• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and moisture.

• Keep the medicine out of reach of children.

• Always use the medicine before its expiry date.

• Ensure your child drinks plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration when they have diarrhoea.

• Provide your child with a balanced diet rich in fibre to help regulate their bowel movements.
