Xtor-10 Tablet is used for:

• Management of high total cholesterol levels

• Reduction of harmful LDL cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood

• Boosting beneficial HDL cholesterol levels

• Control of primary hypercholesterolemia (both familial and nonfamilial) and mixed dyslipidemia

• Regulation of elevated serum triglyceride levels, also known as hypertriglyceridemia

• Management of familial hyperlipoproteinemia, a condition related to abnormal lipid proteins in the blood

• Control of primary dysbetalipoproteinemia, a rare genetic disorder causing abnormal cholesterol metabolism

• Used alongside other treatments for managing homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, a severe type of high cholesterol that's genetic

• Prevention of complications like heart attack, stroke, and peripheral vascular disease due to hardening of the arteries in patients with multiple cardiovascular risk factors.

While taking Xtor-10 Tablet:

• Strictly follow the dosage and timing instructions provided by your doctor for this medication.

• Do not change or exceed the prescribed dose without your doctor's approval.

• Consult your doctor before discontinuing this medication; do not stop taking it without their guidance.

• Adhere to the dietary recommendations given by your doctor.

Xtor-10 Tablet is taken orally.

Xtor-10 Tablet contains atorvastatin (10 mg), which works on your body as follows:

• Inhibits HMG-CoA reductase: Atorvastatin works by competitively blocking an enzyme known as HMG-CoA reductase in your body. This enzyme plays a critical role in the formation of cholesterol in your liver.

• Decreases blood cholesterol: By inhibiting the activity of HMG-CoA reductase, atorvastatin effectively reduces the level of cholesterol and harmful fatty substances in your blood.

• Raises HDL-Cholesterol: While reducing harmful cholesterol levels, atorvastatin also boosts beneficial HDL-cholesterol levels in your body.

The cumulative effect of these actions contributes to the reduction of overall cholesterol levels in your body.

• Store Xtor-10 Tablet in a cool place, ideally at room temperature between 20°C to 25°C.

• Keep the medicine away from direct light and moisture.

• Make sure it's out of reach of children.

• Since Xtor-10 Tablet is used to manage high cholesterol levels, consider incorporating a diet low in saturated fats and high in fibre. This can help your body naturally lower cholesterol levels.

• Regular physical activity is also vital. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise every day to help maintain a healthy cholesterol level.
