Susten SR 400 Tablet is used in the following situations:

• Management of secondary amenorrhea, which is a condition where menstrual periods are absent.

• Control of irregular or dysfunctional bleeding from the uterus.

• Provision of luteal phase support in infertility treatment and assisted reproductive technology (ART), which supports conception and pregnancy.

• Prevention of endometrial hyperplasia during estrogen replacement therapy for menopause, a condition where the lining of the uterus thickens excessively.

• Maintenance of pregnancy in women who have a history of recurrent pregnancy loss due to insufficient progesterone, a crucial hormone for sustaining pregnancy.

Follow these instructions while taking Susten SR 400 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not chew or crush it.

• The tablet can be taken with or without food, as per your comfort.

• Always adhere to your doctor's recommended dose and never exceed it without consulting them first.

• If you have any concerns about this medication or its effects, consult your doctor before discontinuing its use.

Susten SR 400 Tablet is taken orally.

Susten SR 400 Tablet contains natural micronised progesterone (400 mg), which acts on the body as follows:

• Mimics Natural Progesterone: The micronised progesterone in Susten SR 400 Tablet mimics the effects of natural progesterone produced in the body, thanks to its identical chemical structure. The process of micronisation reduces particle size, enhancing absorption and bioavailability.

• Acts on Progesterone Receptors: This component acts on progesterone receptors found mainly in target tissues like the uterus and breasts. By doing so, it initiates secretory changes in the endometrium the lining of the uterus preparing it for implantation of a fertilised egg.

• Regulates Menstrual Cycle and Supports Pregnancy: Progesterone also inhibits uterine contractions, thus supporting early pregnancy. Alongside, it regulates the menstrual cycle by counteracting the proliferative effects of estrogen.

• Store your Susten SR 400 Tablet at a room temperature between 20°C and 25°C.

• Keep it in a tightly sealed container, shielded from direct light and moisture.

• Ensure the medicine is stowed out of reach of children.

• Use before the expiry date on the packaging.

• If you're experiencing symptoms like bloating or abdominal cramps due to Susten SR 400 Tablet, consider eating smaller, more frequent meals instead of three large ones.

• Regular mild to moderate exercise can help manage mood changes or depression, which may sometimes occur with this medication.
