Pramipex ER 0.75 Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing symptoms of idiopathic Parkinson's disease: This is a condition characterised by tremors, stiffness, slow movements, and difficulty with balance.

• Providing relief from restless legs syndrome: This is a neurological disorder that causes an uncontrollable urge to move the legs, often accompanied by uncomfortable sensations.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not break, chew or crush the tablet.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

• If you feel unwell after taking this medicine, consult your doctor.

Pramipex ER 0.75 Tablet is taken orally.

Pramipex ER 0.75 Tablet is based on pramipexole (0.75 mg). Its activity within the body functions as follows:

• Dopamine D2 Receptor Activation: Pramipexole binds to and activates the dopamine D2 receptors in the brain, with a higher affinity towards D3 receptors.

• Restoration of Dopaminergic Activity: Parkinson's disease leads to a deficiency of dopamine in the brain due to degeneration of certain neurons. Pramipexole acts by stimulating these dopamine receptors directly, thereby restoring dopaminergic activities in the brain and reducing symptoms of Parkinson's disease.

• Modulation of Sensory and Motor Symptoms: The precise mechanism through which pramipexole works for restless legs syndrome isn't completely understood. However, it's thought that it modulates certain neurological pathways in the brain and spinal cord which helps manage sensory and motor symptoms associated with this condition.
