Melrio Cream 20 gm is a skin-related drug that is primarily used to treat melasma (dark spots on the skin) (dark brown patch on skin). Melasma, also known as chloasma or the "mask of pregnancy," is a common skin ailment that causes brown spots to appear on the skin's surface. Women are more likely than men to be affected by this condition. The discoloured (grey-brown) patches appear primarily on the forehead, chin, nose, and cheeks, with the exception of the ear. A total of three medications are contained in Melrio Cream 20 gm, namely: Hydroquinone (a skin lightening or bleaching agent), Mometasone (a corticosteroid), and Tretinoin (a form of Vitamin A or retinoids). Mometasone is a corticosteroid medication that works by acting inside skin cells to prevent the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling. Mometasone belongs to the class of corticosteroids that work by inhibiting the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling. This prescription medication belongs to the class of medications known collectively as retinoids (man-made vitamin A). It works by boosting the regeneration of skin cells, which assists in the natural exfoliation of the skin's outer layers.
