Mac It 20/150mg Capsule 10 is used for the following:

• Management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

• Alleviating symptoms of gastroparesis, including bloating and feelings of fullness after small meals

• Addressing persistent cough related to acid reflux

• Handling laryngitis triggered by acid reflux

• Managing asthma symptoms caused by acid reflux

You should administer Mac It 20/150mg Capsule 10 as follows:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the capsule.

Mac It 20/150mg Capsule 10 is taken orally.

Mac It 20/150mg Capsule 10 contains two active ingredients:

• Rabeprazole (20 mg): Rabeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor, works by suppressing acid secretion in the stomach. It does this by blocking the gastric acid pump in the stomach lining, inactivating these proton pumps through covalent disulfide bond formation, which significantly reduces acid production. This action helps heal oesophagal erosions and alleviates symptoms of GERD.

• Itopride (150 mg): This component functions as both a dopamine D2 antagonist and an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor. By increasing the release of acetylcholine, it stimulates gastrointestinal muscle contractions, which accelerates stomach emptying and reduces reflux episodes. Additionally, itopride's inhibition of dopamine leads to increased pressure in the lower esophageal sphincter (LES), preventing acid backflow by reducing LES relaxation.

• Keep it in a tightly closed container at room temperature below 30°C.

• Avoid exposure to direct light and moisture.

• Make sure this medication is out of reach of children.

• Always check the expiry date and use the medicine before it expires.

• To help manage your GERD symptoms, try eating smaller meals more often during the day. This can reduce pressure on your stomach and decrease the amount of acid that can reflux into your oesophagus.

• Avoid late-night snacks, as eating close to bedtime can exacerbate GERD symptoms by increasing the likelihood of acid reflux. Aim to finish your meals at least three hours before going to bed.
