• Prostate cancer: It is a type of cancer that develops in the prostate gland in males. Lupride 1 mg Injection is used to manage and treat advanced prostate cancer. It suppresses the production of testosterone, a male sex hormone that stimulates the growth of prostate cancer cells. By reducing testosterone levels, this injection slows the progression of prostate cancer.
• Endometriosis: It is a medical condition where the tissue lining of the uterus grows outside of its normal location. It can cause severe pain, infertility, and other complications. This injection is used in the management of endometriosis by reducing the production of oestrogen. It shrinks the endometrial tissue and controls the symptoms associated with endometriosis. 
• Uterine fibroids: These are the noncancerous growths that develop in the uterus. The presence of these can lead to experiencing heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, and other forms of discomfort. This medication can suppress oestrogen levels and shrink the fibroids. 
• Precocious puberty: Precocious puberty refers to the early onset of puberty in girls before eight years and boys before nine years. This injection can delay the onset and progression of puberty in such children. 
• Breast cancer: Lupride 1 mg Injection may be used to treat breast cancer. In hormone receptor-positive breast cancer, the cancer cells have receptors that respond to oestrogen or progesterone. Dosage information

Overdose

Missed dose 

If you forgot to take a Lupride Injection, take it as soon as you remember. If the time for the next dosage is close, it is recommended to skip the missed one and resume your regular dosage pattern. Always consult with your doctor before increasing your dosage.

• The main active ingredient in Lupride 1 mg Injection is Leuprolide acetate. It is a synthetic hormone that acts as a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist. Its activity primarily involves the suppression of certain sex hormones.
• Leuprolide works by initially stimulating the release of gonadotropin-releasing hormones from the hypothalamus in the brain. It leads to increased levels of luteinising hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) from the pituitary gland.
• The continual use of leuprolide causes a reduction in the number of GnRH receptors in the pituitary gland. As a result, the production of LH and FSH is significantly reduced. It causes a reduction in the production of sex hormones like testosterone and oestrogen.
