HypoNat-O 30 Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing clinically significant hypervolemic and euvolemic hyponatremia, a condition marked by low blood sodium levels

• Assisting in the management of hyponatremia associated with heart failure

• Addressing hyponatremia related to liver cirrhosis

• Handling Syndrome of Inappropriate Antidiuretic Hormone Secretion (SIADH), which also results in low sodium levels in the blood

Here's how to take HypoNat-O 30 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with some water. Do not crush or chew it.

• Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has advised.

• Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without speaking to your doctor first.

HypoNat-O 30 Tablet contains tolvaptan (30 mg), which works in the following ways:

• Vasopressin V2-receptor Antagonism: Tolvaptan selectively binds to V2 receptors in the renal collecting ducts in your kidneys. This prevents vasopressin, a hormone that regulates water and electrolyte balance in your body, from exerting its water retention effect.

• Increased Free Water Clearance: By preventing water reabsorption, tolvaptan increases the clearance of free water (aquaresis) from the body, leading to increased urine output. Notably, it does this without affecting the excretion of urinary sodium and potassium. This action helps to reduce excess water in the body and increase the concentration of serum sodium, thereby managing hyponatremia.

• Keep your HypoNat-O 30 Tablet in its original packaging to maintain its effectiveness.

• Store at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and moisture.
