Equirex 2.5/5 MG Tablet 10

This medication may be used to manage:

• Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS): Equirex Tablet helps relieve symptoms associated with IBS, such as bleeding, frequent diarrhoea, bloating, flatulence, cramps, and stomach pain.
• Peptic Ulcers: Equirex Tablet is used to manage peptic ulcers, which are painful sores that form in the lining of the stomach or small intestine.
• Enterocolitis: Equirex Tablet is also effective in managing enterocolitis, an inflammation of the small intestine and colon that causes abdominal pain and diarrhoea.

Equirex Tablet contains two active ingredients - chlordiazepoxide and clidinium.

Chlordiazepoxide works by increasing the action of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), a chemical messenger that suppresses abnormal nerve cell activity in the brain. This helps reduce symptoms such as anxiety and muscle spasms.

Clidinium relaxes the muscles in the stomach and gut, preventing sudden muscle contractions (spasms) that can cause cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. By doing so, it helps alleviate symptoms associated with gastrointestinal conditions like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), peptic ulcers, and enterocolitis.

These combined actions of chlordiazepoxide and clidinium help provide relief from the symptoms of gastrointestinal conditions.
