Managing the Side effects

• Headache: Take a break and relax. Drink plenty of liquids, such as water or minerals, to refresh yourself. Apply a pain-relieving ointment to your forehead. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.
• Nausea: Take this medication with or right after food. Stick to basic meals and avoid oily or spicy foods. Consult your doctor if the symptom persists.
• Diarrhoea: Take probiotics or switch to a different medication.
• Dizziness: Try to get some rest and sleep enough. If you feel dizzy, avoid driving or performing other attentive tasks. Consult and notify your doctor if the symptom worsens.
• Sore throat: Gargling with warm salt water and drinking warm liquids such as tea with honey or lemon may alleviate a sore throat.
• Dry mouth: Drink plenty of fluids and use sugar-free gum or candy to stimulate saliva production.
• Muscle pain: Warm compression to the affected area can alleviate muscle pain. Speak to your doctor if the muscle pain persists or worsens.
• Extreme tiredness: If you experience extreme tiredness or sleepiness while taking Desloratadine, try to get plenty of rest and avoid tiring activities.
• Sleepiness: You can consider adjusting the time of day to take the medication. Taking Deslor 5mg before bedtime may help to reduce daytime sleepiness.
• Menstrual pain: Apply heat to the affected area, such as with a heating pad or warm compress, to relieve menstrual cramps. If you still experience menstrual pain while taking Deslor 5mg tablet, take over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen or naproxen after consulting your doctor.

Precautions

PREGNANCY

There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans for using Deslor 5 mg tablet during pregnancy. Some studies on animals have shown the adverse effects of Deslor 5 mg tablet on the foetus. Discuss with your doctor about the safety of the Deslor 5 mg tablet if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. 

BREASTFEEDING

Deslor 5mg tablet passes into breast milk. Therefore, after consulting with a doctor, a choice should be made whether to discontinue breastfeeding or to discontinue Deslor 5mg tablet, taking into account the importance of the drug to the mother.

ALCOHOL

Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Deslor 5mg tablet, as alcohol can increase the risk of drowsiness. It may impair your mental and physical coordination. Additionally, alcohol may worsen allergy symptoms, such as nasal congestion, and may interfere with the effectiveness of the Deslor 5mg tablet in treating allergic symptoms.

LIVER

Deslor 5mg tablet should be used cautiously in patients with liver disease. The doctor may need to adjust the dosage based on the liver condition. They should be monitored closely while taking Deslor 5 mg tablet.

KIDNEY

Deslor 5 mg tablets are not recommended for patients with severe kidney disease. Also, it should be cautiously used in patients with moderate kidney disease.

USING MACHINES AND DRIVING

Deslor 5mg tablets may cause drowsiness and affect your ability to operate machinery or drive a vehicle. Therefore, avoiding this medication while performing attentive tasks is better.

ALLERGY

People hypersensitive to Desloratadine, an active ingredient in Deslor tablets, should avoid this medication. Those allergic to loratadine, an antiallergic medicine, should also avoid taking Deslor 5mg tablets. 

USE IN CHILDREN

Children older than 12 can have Deslor 5 mg tablets after a consultation with their doctor. For children less than 12 years of age, consult their doctor for dosage and frequency. Deslor 5mg tablets are not for children younger than six months of age.

USE IN OLDER PATIENTS 

Older patients may have an increased risk of dizziness after having Deslor 5mg tablets. Therefore, older patients should cautiously use this medicine. Additionally, older patients may be taking other medications that can interact with Deslor 5 mg tablet., So it's better to share your prescriptions with your doctor to avoid any potential drug interactions.
