Composition

Cefuroxime (500 Mg) + Clavulanic Acid (125 Mg)

Cefakind Cv 500 tablet is a combination antibiotic. It is used for treatment of bacterial infections. It acts on both gram positive and gram negative bacteria. This medication will be ineffective in the treatment of viral infections such as common cold or flu.

This medication is effective in treatment of infections of various body parts i.e. lungs, ear, nose, throat, urinary tract, skin, bones, joints. This medicine acts as bactericidal and kills the bacteria. It is always advised to consume this medicine with food.

Tab Cefakind Cv 500 tablet is a prescription drug and is commonly prescribed in bacterial infection. It should be used strictly as per doctor’s advice. Do not take antibiotics on your own. It increases the chances of developing antibiotic resistance.

Directions for Use of Cefakind Cv 500 Tablet 10

Cefakind Cv 500 tablets should be taken only through a doctor's prescription.
Swallow the tablet as a whole with water. Do not chew or break the tablet.
This medication should be taken with food.
It should be taken as advised by the doctor.

Cefakind CV 500 side effects include:

Nausea/Vomiting: The person may experience frequent urge to vomit, sometimes leading to vomiting after taking medicine.
Abdominal cramps/Stomach pain: Patients may also experience discomfort or pain in the stomach.
Dizziness/Drowsiness: Patients may feel sleepy or less active after taking this medication.
Diarrhoea: Use of Cefakind CV 500 tablet may cause loose and frequent stools

Managing the Side Effects:

Nausea/Vomiting: Nausea can be controlled by gradually drinking more water. Ginger and lemon also help in managing nausea.
Abdominal cramps/Stomach pain: Try a heating pad for stomach pain. Chamomile or peppermint tea helps in relieving bloating.
Dizziness/Drowsiness: Take proper rest while using this medication. It is better to get some extra sleep to control dizziness and headache.
Diarrhoea: Drink plenty of fluids to balance for the lost electrolytes in diarrhoea. Consume sugar and salt rehydration solution.

Cefakind CV 500 tablet composition is a combination of Cefuroxime (500 mg) and Clavulanic acid (125 mg).

Cefuroxime is a second generation cephalosporin antibiotic. Cephalosporin has beta lactam rings and prevents bacteria from synthesising cell walls. This results in death of cells.
Clavulanic acid inhibits beta lactamase enzymes. It enhances activity of beta lactam antibiotics.

Pregnancy

Cefakind CV 500 tablet can be taken during pregnancy with a doctor's prescription.

Breastfeeding

Cefakind CV 500 tablet is known to pass into breast milk. It does not affect breast milk for consumption by infants. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine while breastfeeding.

Alcohol

No known interaction of alcohol with medicine. Avoid alcohol while on this medication. Alcohol consumption may worsen side effects i.e. dizziness.

Liver

Not much data is available on the effect of this medication on the liver. Consult a doctor in case of liver issues.

Kidney

This drug is excreted out of the body via the kidney. In case of kidney issues consult a doctor before taking the medicine. Impaired kidney function increases drug time in the body.

Using Machines & Driving

Cefakind CV 500 tablet causes drowsiness and makes a person dizzy. Avoid driving and using heavy machinery while taking this medication.

Allergy

In case of known allergies to any of its components e.g. penicillin, avoid the medication. Can cause allergic reactions in some people accompanied with hives, trouble breathing. Consult your doctor immediately in case the allergic response worsens.

Children

Not recommended for infants or children. Can be given to children older than 1 year in prescribed dosage by the doctor.

Older Patients

Cefakind CV 500 tablet can be given to older patients. However, kidneys work slowly in older patients. This increases drug excretion time from the body and raises risk of side effects.

The recommended daily Cefakind CV 500 tablet dosage varies from one patient to another. It also depends on the severity of infection. This medication should be strictly taken as prescribed by your doctor. Consult your doctor before exceeding the prescribed dosage.

Over Dose

Take the dose strictly as prescribed by the doctor. In case of overdose, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of overdose include nausea, vomiting, hives or trouble breathing.

Missed Dose

If you missed a dose of Cefakind CV 500 tablet, take it as soon as you remember. In case it is already time for your next dose, take only the missed dose and not the next one. Never double your dosage without consulting your doctor.

Store this medicine at room temperature (25ºC).
Keep the medicine away from direct light, moisture and heat.
Keep away from children.
Do not use this medicine past the expiry date.
Ask healthcare professionals about proper disposal of unused medicine.

Have a balanced and healthy diet.
Add probiotics like yoghourt or curd to your diet.
Avoid oily and heavy foods that can worsen bacterial infection.
Get enough sleep so that your body gets sufficient rest.

Avoid Cefakind CV 500 tablet in case of known allergies to Penicillin.
Take this medicine with food.
While taking antacids with this medicine, keep a gap of at least 2 hours in both
