Carmicide Paediatric Oral Liquid 100 ml belongs to the 'Alkalinizing agents' class of drugs used to prevent gout, kidney stones, and metabolic acidosis in kidney disease patients. Gout is an arthritic condition in which uric acid crystals build in the joints, causing extreme pain, redness, and swelling. A kidney stone is a condition in which hard deposits build up in the kidney, resulting in the formation of stones. Metabolic acidosis is a condition in which the body accumulates too much acid as a result of renal failure. Citric acid and sodium citrate are combined in Carmicide Paediatric Oral Liquid 100 ml. Citric acid binds to the salts, preventing deposits from forming, and it also breaks down the little deposits that are forming. In the body, sodium citrate is converted to sodium bicarbonate. It is alkaline in nature and prevents the accumulation of salts in the body by neutralising acids in the blood and urine.
