Caberlin 0.25 Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing high prolactin hormone levels in the body.

• Controlling unwanted breast milk production.

• Normalising irregular or absent menstrual periods.

• Helping to manage infertility in both women and men.

• Stopping lactation after childbirth, stillbirth, abortion or a missed pregnancy.

• Off-label use for managing symptoms of Parkinson's disease.

Follow these instructions while taking Caberlin 0.25 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

• Do not take more than the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

• It's important not to stop taking this medicine without speaking to your doctor first.

Caberlin 0.25 Tablet is taken orally.

Caberlin 0.25 Tablet contains cabergoline (0.25 mg). The mechanism of action of cabergoline is as follows:

• Dopamine Receptor Activation: Cabergoline acts as a dopamine receptor agonist. This means that it mimics dopamine, a neurotransmitter in your brain.

• Prolactin Inhibition: By activating dopamine receptors, particularly those in the pituitary gland, cabergoline inhibits the synthesis and secretion of prolactin. This helps to regulate prolactin levels in your body.

• Symptoms Management: By regulating prolactin levels, cabergoline helps to manage the symptoms associated with hyperprolactinemia such as unwanted breast milk production, irregular or absent menstrual periods in women, enlarged breasts and decreased sexual function in men.

• Remember to check the expiry date on the packet before taking the medicine.

• If you're dealing with high prolactin levels due to hyperprolactinemia, consider reducing your intake of protein-rich foods. Some studies suggest that protein can increase prolactin production. Remember, moderation is key; don't eliminate proteins entirely from your diet.

• Regular exercise can help balance hormonal levels in your body, including prolactin. Aim for a minimum of 150 minutes of moderate-intensity or 75 minutes of high-intensity exercise per week.
