C-Furo 500 Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing respiratory tract infections like pneumonia, bronchitis and sinusitis

• Handling ear infections known as otitis media

• Dealing with throat and tonsil infections, such as pharyngitis and tonsillitis

• Addressing urinary tract infections, including cystitis and pyelonephritis

• Overcoming skin and soft tissue infections like cellulitis, erysipelas and wound infections

• Controlling bone and joint infections such as osteomyelitis and septic arthritis

• Managing gonorrhoea

• Helping with the early stages of Lyme disease

Follow these instructions while taking C-Furo 500 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

• It's crucial not to take more than the dose advised by your doctor.

• Remember, even if you start feeling better, do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

C-Furo 500 Tablet is taken orally.

C-Furo 500 Tablet contains cefuroxime (500 mg). It works in your body through the following mechanisms:

• Inhibits Bacterial Cell Wall Synthesis: Cefuroxime acts by halting the creation of certain proteins that bacteria need to build their cell walls. These proteins are called penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which are essential for constructing the peptidoglycan layer of bacterial cell walls.

• Leads to Bacterial Death: By disrupting cell wall synthesis, cefuroxime weakens the bacterial cell walls, leading to a process called cell lysis. This process causes the bacterial cells to break open and die, helping to combat the infection in your body.

• Store C-Furo 500 Tablet at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.

• Keep it in a dry place, shielded from light and moisture.

• Ensure the medicine is out of reach of children.

• Always check the expiry date before taking the medicine.

• If you're managing a respiratory tract infection, increase your fluid intake. This can help thin out mucus and soothe an irritated throat.
