• Cefoperazone (1000 mg): As a bactericidal antibiotic, cefoperazone works by inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall. It does this by binding to and inactivating penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which are vital for creating the peptidoglycan layer of the bacterial cell wall. When the cell wall synthesis is disrupted, the bacterial cell ruptures and dies.

• Sulbactam (1000 mg): Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor. It binds to and inactivates the beta-lactamase enzymes produced by some bacteria. These enzymes can degrade cefoperazone and other beta-lactam antibiotics, leading to antibiotic resistance. Sulbactam enhances and extends the antibacterial activity of cefoperazone against beta-lactamase-producing bacteria.
