B Zone S 500mg/250mg Injection is used for managing a range of bacterial infections, such as:

• Infections in the ear, sinus, throat and lungs

• Urinary tract infections

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Infections in the abdominal region

• Gynaecological infections

• Septicaemia is a severe infection that spreads through the bloodstream

• Meningitis is an infection of the membranes covering the brain and spinal cord

• Prophylaxis before surgery to prevent infection.

To administer B Zone S 500mg/250mg Injection properly, follow these instructions:

• The medicine is administered either intravenously (into a vein) or intramuscularly (into a muscle).

• The injection should be given under the supervision of a trained healthcare professional.

• The solution needs to be reconstituted and further diluted before use according to the manufacturer's guidelines.

• For intravenous use, it's normally infused over 30 minutes.

• For intramuscular administration, the reconstituted solution can be injected directly into a large muscle.

B Zone S 500mg/250mg Injection is administered intravenously or via an intramuscular route.

The B Zone S 500mg/250mg Injection contains two active ingredients:

• Ceftriaxone (500 mg): This component binds to and deactivates penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located on the inner membrane of the bacterial cell wall. PBPs are enzymes that aid in forming and reshaping the bacterial cell wall during growth and division. When inactive, they can't form peptidoglycan chains needed for bacterial cell wall strength and rigidity. This weakens the cell wall causing cell lysis.

• Sulbactam (250 mg): While sulbactam doesn't have much antibacterial activity itself, it serves as an irreversible inhibitor of many beta-lactamases produced by bacteria resistant to penicillins and cephalosporins. The presence of sulbactam in B Zone S 500mg/250mg Injection extends the antibiotic spectrum of ceftriaxone to include many beta-lactamase producing bacteria normally resistant to it.

• Always store B Zone S 500mg/250mg Injection within a temperature range of 2 to 8°C.

• Keep out of direct light and away from moisture.

• Kept out of the reach of children.
