AKT-4 Kit helps to prevent the growth of the infection-causing microorganisms. It combines four medications used to treat tuberculosis (TB). Tuberculosis is a contagious bacterial infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It primarily affects the lungs but can also affect other body parts, such as the kidneys, spine, and brain. TB spreads through the air when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks.
Common symptoms of tuberculosis include persistent cough (sometimes with blood), chest pain, fatigue, weight loss, night sweats, and fever. Treatment of tuberculosis typically involves a combination of antibiotics for a prolonged period, usually six to nine months or longer, depending on the severity and drug resistance.
This medicine is prescribed in the initial phase of tuberculosis treatment, often for two to three months. After the initial phase, the medication regimen may be adjusted based on the patient's response to treatment and drug susceptibility.
The composition includes four medications, including one tablet of Ethambutol (800mg) and Isoniazid (300mg), two tablets of Pyrazinamide (750mg) and one capsule containing Rifampicin (450mg).
Further, AKT-4 Kit is generally safe and effective when prescribed by a doctor. It is contraindicated in individuals with severe liver disease, kidney disease, gout, blood disorders and a history of hypersensitivity to any of the medications in the kit.
