Contraindications

• This medication is contraindicated in patients with known gastrointestinal obstruction or perforation, bowel obstruction, gastric retention, toxic colitis or toxic megacolon, and known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation.

Other Medications to Avoid

• This combination may interact with diuretics (such as furosemide and hydrochlorothiazide), corticosteroids (like prednisone and dexamethasone), antibiotics (such as tetracycline and amoxicillin) and antiepileptics (like phenytoin and carbamazepine).

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of this medication may increase the risk of nausea, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhoea. Dehydration and electrolyte imbalances may occur in the event of significant fluid loss. Treatment is symptomatic and supportive.

• If you forget to take this medication, take it as soon as you remember. However, do not double up on the dose if it is close to the time for the next dose.

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.
