Contraindications

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of Moxonidine may result in severe hypotension, bradycardia, drowsiness and dizziness. If you observe these symptoms, consult your doctor and follow their advice.

• If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But, if it is time for your next dose skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing regime. Avoid repeating the dose.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• Dry mouth can be managed by sipping water regularly.

• If you experience dizziness or light-headedness, sit or lie down until the symptoms pass.

• Manage fatigue by ensuring adequate rest and sleep.

• Moxonidine may cause sedation which can affect your ability to drive or operate heavy machinery. Avoid these activities if you feel drowsy or dizzy after taking this medication.

• The use of this medicine during pregnancy or breastfeeding is not recommended without a doctor's advice. Consult your doctor before taking this medication if you are pregnant or nursing.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Moxonidine should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate hepatic or renal impairment, as dose adjustments may be necessary.
