Contraindications

Other Medications to Avoid

• Moxifloxacin + Tobramycin may interact with antacids, sucralfate (protectant), multivitamins and didanosine (for instance Videx), warfarin (such as Coumadin), oral hypoglycemic medications (such as Metformin) and nephrotoxic or ototoxic medications like loop diuretics and platinum compounds (for example cisplatin).

• Always consult your doctor before starting any prescription or over-the-counter medications.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of this medicine is unlikely with topical ophthalmic use. However, prolonged exposure may damage the corneal epithelium.

• If you miss a dose of this medication, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue as usual.

• In case you happen to put a few extra drops of this medicine in your eye, do not panic. Rinse your eyes with clean water at room temperature. If any symptoms persist or worsen, inform your doctor.

Management of Side Effects

• Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• To manage eye irritation, burning, stinging, or discomfort caused by this medication, try closing your eyes for a few minutes after application.

• If you experience eye dryness, use a lubricating eye drop or artificial tear solution (available over the counter) to keep your eyes moist.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• This medicine may cause blurred vision.

• If you experience this side effect, avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until your vision is clear.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Moxifloxacin + Tobramycin is considered safe in pregnancy due to minimal systemic absorption.

• Small amounts of this medication may pass into breast milk but are unlikely to harm the infant.

• However, it is always advised to consult your doctor before using this medicine during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Patients with pre-existing renal, vestibular, or hearing impairment should exercise caution when using Moxifloxacin + Tobramycin.
