Lactobacillus + Ofloxacin + Ornidazole is a combination of an antibiotic duo and a probiotic.
Ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone class antibiotic, hampers bacterial growth by inhibiting DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV enzymes. These enzymes are crucial for DNA replication and cell division in bacteria. As a result, the bacteria cannot multiply and eventually die.
Ornidazole is a nitroimidazole antibiotic. It interferes with the DNA structure of bacteria and certain parasites, causing their cells to die. It is particularly effective against anaerobic bacteria and specific parasites such as Giardia.
Lactobacillus acidophilus, the probiotic component, helps to restore or maintain the natural balance of beneficial microorganisms in the digestive tract. It competes with harmful organisms, potentially boosting immune function.
