Contraindications

Overdose and Missed Dose

• In case of an overdose, monitoring and supportive treatment is necessary as haemodialysis is not beneficial due to the high protein binding of both itopride and rabeprazole. Symptoms may vary, and immediate medical attention is recommended.

• If a dose of Itopride + Rabeprazole is missed, it should be taken as soon as you remember. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your normal dosing schedule.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• To manage nausea, consider taking the medication with or shortly after a meal.

• If experiencing dry mouth, increase your intake of water or use sugar-free gum to stimulate saliva production.

• Caution is advised while driving or operating heavy machinery if you experience dizziness or drowsiness as side effects of this medication.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Patients with severe liver impairment should use this medication with caution due to the lack of extensive clinical data on its use in these individuals.

• Individuals with severe kidney impairment should also be cautious and consult their doctor.

Special Dietary and Lifestyle Recommendations

• Maintain a balanced diet low in fatty, spicy, and acidic foods to help manage symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) which Itopride + Rabeprazole is used to manage.

• Small, frequent meals are preferable over large meals to avoid putting excess pressure on the stomach.

• Avoiding caffeine, chocolate, mint, and alcohol can also help reduce GERD symptoms.

• Elevating the head while sleeping can help prevent nighttime symptoms by keeping stomach acid from travelling back into the esophagus.

• Smoking cessation is strongly advised as smoking can weaken the esophageal sphincter and exacerbate GERD symptoms.
