Dosage Forms Available

• Dicyclomine + Nimesulide is available in the form of tablets for use via the oral route.

Age and Dose Restrictions

• This medicine is meant for adults and children above the age of 12 years.

Contraindications

• Dicyclomine + Nimesulide is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to either dicyclomine, nimesulide or any excipients.

• It is also contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic, renal or cardiac impairment and during or just before coronary artery bypass graft surgery.

Other Medications to Avoid

• This combination may interact with anticholinergic medicines (such as atropine and scopolamine), tricyclic antidepressants (such as amitriptyline and imipramine), anticoagulants (like warfarin and heparin), SSRIs (like fluoxetine and sertraline) and other NSAIDs (such as aspirin and ibuprofen).

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of this medication may cause symptoms such as excessive dryness of mouth, blurring of vision, nausea, vomiting, weakness, drowsiness or dizziness. If you experience any of these symptoms, inform your doctor immediately.

• If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• To manage dry mouth, drink plenty of water throughout the day.

• Rest and avoid performing physical activities if you feel dizzy or weak.

• If you experience nausea, try taking the medicine with food or milk.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• Dicyclomine + Nimesulide may cause drowsiness or dizziness. These effects may affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. Avoid these activities if you feel affected after taking this medicine.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Use of Dicyclomine + Nimesulide is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Dicyclomine + Nimesulide should be used with caution in patients with glaucoma, obstructive diseases of the gastrointestinal or urinary tract, myasthenia gravis, hypertension, congestive heart failure, and in patients with bleeding disorders.

Special Dietary and Lifestyle Recommendations

• Maintain a diet rich in fibre to help regulate bowel movements and reduce the chance of constipation.

• Stay well hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day.

• Regular low-intensity physical activity such as walking can help manage symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

• Limit intake of caffeinated drinks as they can worsen the symptoms of IBS.

• Try relaxation techniques such as deep breathing exercises and yoga to help reduce stress and anxiety which can trigger IBS symptoms.
