How Dicyclomine + Nimesulide works

  • Dicyclomine + Nimesulide is a combination medication with antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties.

  • Dicyclomine is an anticholinergic agent. It functions by blocking the action of a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine in areas like smooth muscle and secretory glands. This results in relaxation of smooth muscles, particularly in the digestive system, thus helping to ease spasms and cramps.

  • Nimesulide is a Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drug (NSAID), specifically selective COX-2 inhibitor. Through inhibiting the COX-2 enzyme, it hinders the production of prostaglandins, substances contributing to inflammation and pain. This leads to its anti-inflammatory, analgesic and fever-reducing effects.
