How Dicyclomine + Mefenamic Acid works

  • Dicyclomine acts as an antispasmodic. It works by relaxing the muscles in the gastrointestinal tract. It helps reduce spasms and cramps in the stomach and intestines by blocking certain neurotransmitters that cause muscle contractions.
  • Mefenamic Acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the production of prostaglandins, which are substances that cause inflammation and pain. By reducing prostaglandin levels, mefenamic acid helps alleviate the pain associated with menstrual cramps.
  • The combination of Dicyclomine and Mefenamic Acid targets abdominal pain from different angles. Dicyclomine addresses muscle spasms, while Mefenamic Acid reduces inflammation and pain.
