Contraindications

• This medicine is not suitable for patients with a known hypersensitivity to diclofenac or tizanidine, an active peptic ulcer, bleeding, or perforation; severe renal or hepatic impairment; a history of asthma, urticaria, or allergic reactions triggered by NSAIDs; congestive heart failure (NYHA II-IV).

Other Medications to Avoid

• Diclofenac + Tizanidine can interact with potent CYP1A2 inhibitors (e.g., fluvoxamine, ciprofloxacin), other NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, ketorolac), corticosteroids (e.g., dexamethasone, prednisolone) anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin, heparin), SSRIs (e.g., escitalopram, fluoxetine), SNRIs (e.g., duloxetine, levomilnacipran), antihypertensives (e.g., lisinopril, losartan), and CNS depressants such as like benzodiazepines and opioids.

• It is advised to consult your doctor before starting any new medication while taking this combination.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• Symptoms of overdose may include gastrointestinal bleeding, seizures, drowsiness, respiratory depression, severe hypotension, bradycardia, and CNS depression. If you suspect an overdose, seek immediate medical attention.

• If you miss a dose of this medication, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double up on doses.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• For nausea or vomiting, try taking this medication with or after a meal.

• For dry mouth, drink plenty of water, and chew sugar-free gum or suck on sugar-free hard candies.

• For dizziness or drowsiness, don’t stand up too quickly after sitting or lying down.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• Diclofenac + Tizanidine may cause dizziness and drowsiness. If you are affected, avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you feel alert again.
