Contraindications

• It is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to cyproheptadine, tricholine citrate, or sorbitol or if you have urine retention problems or prostate hypertrophy or impassable urine pathways.

Other Medications To Avoid With This Medicine

• Avoid taking CNS depressants such as hypnotics, sedatives, antianxiety medications, tranquilizers and monoamine oxidase inhibitors such as phenelzine with this combination.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• Overdose of this combination can cause nervous system depression, dry mouth, fixed, dilated pupils, flushing and GI symptoms. These symptoms need to be managed as an emergency in a hospital setting. Therefore, strict adherence to the prescribed dose is essential.
• If you miss a dose of this combination, take it as soon as you remember, but if the next dose is near, skip the missed dose and resume the regular dosing regime.

Use In Driving And Operating Machinery

• It is advised to refrain from driving or operating machines after taking this combination.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Caution is advised when using this combination during pregnancy. This combination is not recommended to be used in breastfeeding.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Caution is advised in older adults and patients with cardiovascular disease including hypertension and ischaemic heart disease, increased intraocular pressure, asthma or other chronic breathing disorders, thyroid dysfunction.

• This combination can enhance the sedative effects of alcohol, leading to increased drowsiness and impairment of cognitive function. It is advisable to limit or avoid alcohol consumption while taking this combination.
