Age and Dose Restrictions

• This medication is meant for adult use primarily. Safety and effectiveness in paediatric patients have not been established.

Contraindications

• This medicine is contraindicated in patients with bronchial asthma or a history of bronchial asthma.

• It is also contraindicated in patients with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), sinus bradycardia, second or third-degree atrioventricular block, overt cardiac failure, or cardiogenic shock.

• Additionally, it is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component of the product.

Other Medications to Avoid

• This combination may interact with oral beta-blockers (such as atenolol and propranolol), oral calcium channel blockers (like verapamil and diltiazem), catecholamine-depleting medicines (such as reserpine), digitalis glycosides (like digoxin), and medicines like epinephrine.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• In case you happen to put a few extra drops of this combination in your eye, do not panic. Rinse your eyes with clean water at room temperature. If any symptoms persist or worsen, inform your doctor.

• If you miss a dose of this medicine, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double doses to make up for a missed one.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this combination. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• Dry eyes can sometimes be alleviated by blinking more frequently or using a room humidifier.

• If you experience discomfort due to the eye drops, try to use them just before going to bed to decrease irritation during waking hours.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• Benzalkonium Chloride + Timolol may cause blurred vision or dizziness. You should not drive or operate heavy machinery if your vision is impaired after using these eye drops.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• The use of Benzalkonium Chloride + Timolol during pregnancy and lactation has not been extensively studied. Therefore, it is advised to consult a doctor before using this medicine during pregnancy and lactation.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Caution should be exercised while using this medication in patients with cerebrovascular insufficiency, diabetes mellitus, thyrotoxicosis, myasthenia gravis, and hypoglycemia.

• Additionally, individuals with corneal disorders or undergoing filtration surgery should also exercise caution.

Special Dietary and Lifestyle Recommendations

• Regular eye check-ups are recommended for early detection and management of glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

• Limited exposure to sunlight and protecting eyes from harmful UV rays can prevent damage to the eyes. Protect your eyes from excessive UV light by wearing sunglasses when outdoors.
