Ammonium chloride + chlorpheniramine maleate + sodium citrate is a combination medicine that belongs to the group of expectorant, antihistamine, and mucolytic properties.
Ammonium Chloride acts as an expectorant. It assists in drawing water into the airways, thinning mucus secretions, which in turn makes coughs more productive by irritating the mucous membranes.
Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antihistamine. It helps with allergy symptoms by blocking a chemical in your body called histamine, which is responsible for causing a runny nose, watery eyes, itching, and sneezing. By stopping histamine, this medicine helps you feel more comfortable.
Sodium Citrate is a mucolytic agent. It helps by thinning and loosening mucus in your nose, throat, and lungs, making coughing easier. This helps to relieve coughing more effectively.
